MOVEMENT at the site of the old Regatta on Lake Muskoka! As I was walking my Muskoka Wedding couple along the boardwalk to their wedding venue aboard The Wenonah we saw staff bringing items out of the restaurant while other crew worked with power tools on the other side dismantling or assembling something. The sign on the door read ‘Dock on the Bay’ Crystal Galleon Hall. Since I obviously could NOT halt our romantic walk along the Muskoka Wharf we kept going and after I circled back to check out the new sign posted in place of the eviction notice that was there the day before. I have contacted the venue to find out more information about opening and whether or not there will be a restaurant facility and upstairs banquet facility as before. All I’ve gotten is that they are hoping to be open for ‘summer’. Seeing as though summer is here I anticipate having to wait a few weeks while they transform the space. At a minimum they will have to change all of the window decals that say Regatta – and there are a LOT. I’m excited to see what’s going on and learn more about the owners and what their offer to my Muskoka Wedding couples will look like. It would be great to have another option other than Boston Pizza for an evening cocktail/appetizers, as well as banquet space that isn’t a museum or a boat. Everything is soooo convenient when you have your wedding at the wharf, having the Marriott Residence Inn Muskoka Wharf for your accommodations, the Spa at Sagamo for your hair & make-up needs, shopping, restaurants, and tourist attractions like the Muskoka Boat & Heritage Museum and The R.M.S. Segwun / Wenonah!
